The clock pauses while we are waiting for information or a signature from you. Your information must be complete and accurate, and the responsible party must be able to sign the IRS application. EINs are issued by the IRS. Firmlane prepares and submits your application through its established process and follows it through until your EIN is issued. Firmlane is not affiliated with the IRS. What happens if my EIN takes longer than 4 weeks?

If your EIN is not delivered within 4 weeks, we keep working on it at no cost and refund every Firmlane fee you paid on the order, or $100, whichever is more. The 4 weeks start once your company has been approved by the state and we have your complete EIN information. The clock pauses while we are waiting for information or a signature from you. What does the "$0 Firmlane service fee" mean?

On eligible standard LLC and C corporation formations, Firmlane charges no service fee for preparing and submitting your formation. It does not mean the formation is free: every state charges its own filing fee, which you pay. We show the state fee separately before you pay, so you can see exactly where your money goes. Optional services are priced separately and are never added without your choice. See pricing for what qualifies.

What will I actually pay?

For an eligible standard formation, you pay: - The state filing fee , set by the state you choose and shown separately at checkout - $0 Firmlane service fee - Any optional services you select , each priced upfront EIN assistance and the first year of registered agent service are included on eligible orders. How does Firmlane make money if the service fee is $0?

We earn revenue from optional services and renewals: registered agent renewal after the included first year, compliance and annual report services, business address and mail, bookkeeping and tax support through qualified professionals, amendments, certificates and documents, and dissolution. Every one of these is optional, priced upfront before you buy, and can be cancelled according to our terms. You never have to buy anything extra to complete an eligible formation. Why are state filing fees different from state to state?

Each state sets its own fees by law, and they vary by entity type as well as by state. Some states also offer optional expedited processing for an extra state fee. These amounts are government fees, not Firmlane charges, and they are passed to the state. We list them separately at checkout so you can compare. Remember that ongoing costs, such as annual reports and state taxes, also differ by state. See our state fees page.

Which payment methods do you accept?

It depends on your billing country and on what is enabled for your order at checkout. Outside India: card through Stripe (with Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them), PayPal and international bank transfer. In India: UPI and bank transfer from an Indian bank account, in INR. Everywhere: crypto (Bitcoin, USDT on TRON or BNB Smart Chain, BNB or TRX), paid to Firmlane's own addresses and checked on the blockchain. Crypto payments are final and cannot be reversed. Why is my bank transfer or UPI payment marked "pending confirmation"?

Manual payments, such as bank transfers and UPI, are not confirmed automatically. Your order stays "pending confirmation" until our team matches the incoming payment to your order. Use the exact reference shown at checkout so the payment can be matched. Once it is confirmed, your order moves forward and the status updates in your account. If the status has not changed after your bank shows the transfer as complete, contact us with your order reference.
